Support Engineer

Pixar’s founders famously commented on the nature of animation, inspiration, and storytelling in a simple expression: “Art challenges technology, but technology inspires the art.” If you are ready to help some of the world’s most creative people translate that inspiration into the next big blockbuster, then it’s time to join pixitmedia.

pixitmedia is helping the business of entertainment become more effective – faster, less expensive, more collaborative, and more flexible. Most of the “who’s who” in media and entertainment (WarnerMedia, Fox Sports, Sony, IMAX, Sky, A&E, Framestore, Deluxe, BBC, and Technicolor to name a few) are already using our products to create content with record speed and efficiency. For time and cost sensitive projects (which is everything in media these days), the value proposition is unparalleled – delivering guaranteed performance, flexibility, and better collaboration on-premises and in the cloud.

Seasoned executives at some of the leading technology providers are leaping at the chance to join this new wave in “creative enablement” and the opportunity to shape a truly electric environment for serving customers. What we need is YOU, a Support Engineer, to enable our customer to achieve their data visions.

We’re looking for a hands-on engineer who can roll up his/her sleeves and deliver beyond expectations for our customers over our two brands arcastream and pixitmedia. The work is exciting and challenging working with the biggest customers in Media and Entertainment and some of the world’s leading Research Institutions. We are a growing business with a huge technical focus and many opportunities for personal growth.

If this sounds like you, keep reading… pixitmedia began its success track 8 years ago and has assembled a great team whose executives have built multiple digital media companies, architected studio infrastructures, and held high-level positions at the most innovative data storage companies in the world.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our company created pixstor, which is a Software Defined Storage platform developed from IBM’s Spectrum Scale’s global parallel files system architecture. This is then targeted at the M&E market and HPC market and delivers a highly scalable, highly performant, highly feature rich platform to allow those customers to create, deliver and research.

We need to continue to grow our US team with a skilled support engineer. Based ideally in the Eastern time zone, working from home we need a flexible support engineer to ideally work 07:00am to 16:00 shift (some flexibility in that), bridging our UK based engineers with our US West Coast engineers. This role also requires weekend working (usually 1 weekend in 4 ‘on-call’).

The work is exciting and challenging working with the biggest customers in Media and Entertainment and some of the world’s leading Research Institutions. We are a growing business with a huge technical focus and many opportunities for personal growth.
