Job brief:

The newly created Development Services department acts as an in-house client to Arcapix. It identifies and develops tools that bridge a customer’s workflow and our products. If the required tools do not exist, we either develop them specifically for the customer, or we work with Product Development to develop them for the core products.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities:

  • Identify the customers’ requirements, turning them into an achievable project scope
  • Develop the tools to achieve the customers’ requirements based on the project scope
  • Generate both internal and customer-facing documentation, knowledge base articles, and “play books” with a focus on making it easier to achieve predefined outcomes with our product and solution offerings
  • Generate highly detailed handovers, videos, and 1-to-1s to core development if the tool is to be brought into core products, detailing not only how the tool works, but why and how it will enhance core products
  • Provide regular operational updates regarding current customer project issues, associated workarounds, expected fixes, etc.
  • Participate in project support until the project has been handed over to Support
  • Identify opportunities for automation of tasks to improve technical function, solution value, and business process, then develop them into the product
  • Act as a “technical bridge” between Customer Development and the core development teams within the business, translate customer requirements and improvement opportunities into development needs, as well as provide internal training to support, professional services, and pre-sales engineers on new product features and enhancements

Requirements:

  • Degree in computer science, data science or information technology a plus but not required
  • Expert on Linux operating system
  • Cloud Experience essential – one or more of the following: AWS, Azure, GCP – with a particular emphasis on EC2, EBS, and object storage
  • Scripting Languages such as bash or Python
Nice to Have:
  • Experience working with Enterprise hardware, preferably in a data center environment
  • Experience with NAS-related technologies and their open source implementations, particularly those that support NFS and SMB
  • Experience building, supporting, or maintaining a clustered or parallel filesystem such as Spectrum Scale, Lustre, Quantum Stornext, BeeGFS, etc.
